The COASTAL Study
As osteoarthritis can affect people in different ways, we need different programs to deliver the care people need. These programs need to be able to adapt to different situations and be easily accessed through regular healthcare providers like General Practitioners (GPs) and physiotherapists, or via online programs. While some new osteoarthritis care programs have shown promise in improving health outcomes, more information is needed about which way of delivering these programs works best.
The COASTAL Study is a 6-month study which aims to compare three different programs for knee osteoarthritis to determine how effective they are in improving knee pain on walking. The three different programs will be compared with a control group.
